Heartless…

NOT all news are good news for me for the passed few months. After celebrating the arrival of my 1st child, barely a week, I received a very bad news from work. There was some re-org process going on in my dept & the ‘Management’ decided to layoff a few contract staffs which unfortunately included me, the only IT support & the longest serving contract staff…blurgh! Altogether, there were 5 of us who got the axe & to cover up the ‘retrenchment’ practice, HR & the mis-’management’ immediately sourced out other ‘contract’ positions for us within the company.

But for me, it was a different case. HR & one of my Director called me in for a meeting. Apart from telling me the bad news, they somehow quickly change the topic about offering me a perm position in the company. Yup, ‘PERM’ according to them. Although it was a position which was totally non-IT related, I was positively willing to try it since it’s a perm position & also thinking that is best that I still hold on to a job since I now need to support my family. So HR starts to blabber & said that they will update me once an interview is set.

So I waited…It has been a week & still no call for an interview. At this stage, I was taking no chance & immediately start to update my resume. The rest of the week, I felt like a fresh graduate, desperately looking for a job online. Within a week, I’ve sent close to a 100 job applications for various positions & all I have to do is wait…

The very next day, I received a call from 1 of the recruitment agencies & they informed me that there’s an IT helpdesk position available. Without any hesitation & being a desperado, I quickly acknowledged the caller. Although she ain’t a desperado, she immediately set an interview the next day…how efficient!! The fact that she told me it was a MNC company + perm position was enough to make me say YES…A perm IT helpdesk…very rare!

During the interview, I was kinda nervous like most normal interviewee wld be. But the casual approach & the smiley face of the interviewer loosen my tension…abit. Started of by introducing myself, followed by intro by the interviewer about herself and the company. Then when it came to the nerve-wrecking technical competency qns, I totally nailed it with confidence. And with that, a few good compliments from the interviewer & she told me to wait for the 2nd interview the next day.

2nd interview went well too & right after that the recruitment agency called, confirming the ‘attractive’ package as well as the signing of the employment letter the next day. Wow! everything happened so fast! Within 3 days, I’ve signed with a new company…

At this moment, everyone in my current dept was feeling sorry for me but they really didn’t expect me to so jovial & happy after what has happened. Scratching their heads & looking confused. I broke the news to a few close colleagues & they finally understood. Haha..Also, on that very day, my dear HR finally called me down for a quick interview with the dept supervisor for the new ‘perm’ position. The interview was quite a stalemate. The interviewer didn’t give a clear jobscope & was very unconvincing when i returned him a qns abt the position. It’s more like I’m the interviewer asking him tons of qns which he is very unsure…Next was HR’s turn to ‘wow’ me with the new renumeration package & she replied as follows…

HR: This is a 2 year contract position

In my mind: WTF right! they told me it’s a PERM position! KNN!

HR: After which we will decide whether to convert u to Perm depending on your performance

In my mind: I’ve performed well for the passed 3 yrs of my contract & u still want me to perform for another 2 donkey yrs!! Go n Die la!

HR: Your salary will remain unchanged but since u r working shifts, there will be ‘some’ shift allowance ‘subject to approvals’

In my mind: WTF! no increment & have to work irregular shifts with some allowances. Have u seen a flying chair hitting your face?! no never, bcoz it’ll already hit u before u can see it! asshole!

I mean what kind of employer lie about job positions in the company. Saying it’s a perm position when it’s NOT. With lousy renumeration, uncertain working hrs, scrappy jobscope & another blur supervisor…and as for the management, they knew I just had a kid & furthermore I know they need help on IT stuffs & support for the dept but still they overlooked me & decide to do away with me. So be it…I don’t join a company who previously retrenched me. Goodbye & so long…

Woah! It’s been afew centuries I last blogged ..haha

Anyway, continuing from my previous entry last century…Baby Idham was finally borned & I’m a DAD now!! He was supposed to be delivered on xmas last yr but decided that he can’t wait to see mummy n daddy & was introduced to the world on 6 Dec 2010 at 9.56am @KKH weighing 2.84kg, length is 47 cm & head circumference was 35.5cm…so called full stats

However, wifey had to go thru caesarean to prevent some complications on both mummy and baby. I’m very thankful to Dr. Anthony for doing a great job delivering our baby. And also thankful to Allah for giving us a healthy baby…alhamdullilah!

Baby boy is growing very fast. He’s about 1.6kg now according to Mr.Gynae. Wifey is 30 weeks pregnant now, therefore another 8 to 10 weeks to go before our dear baby pop out…hehe. Every single day without fail, I’ll kiss mummy’s tummy, hear him swim inside & feel his kicking and oh boy…he does kicks alot! Kudos to wifey too for carrying him around all day, everyday…it’s never easy. Hold on there deary…2 more months to go…roughly. For now we can only see him through the scans…love u baby!

Inconsiderate, ignorant, selfish, self-centered…these are some words someone would describe when they see the 2 idiots (seated) in the photo (below). But for me, I think they are just FUCKING blind. Pretend to play their stupid fones/games & not noticing my pregnant wife standing beside them…sometimes I feel they will experience this one day. Either 9mths pregnant & nobody giving up the seat for her or the boy who ate too much fast food & grew to be a fat pig with wobbly knees..& nobody will give up a seat for him too…perhaps 1 day…

Psst psst I got some new stuffs for myself…hmm ok la with some help from wifey too…hehehe

Ok ok…I know that there are reception problems with this phone according to most users abroad & I promised myself not to buy it till the fone stabilized…but since wifey’s SingTel mobile contract has expired & her wanting an old iPhone 3GS, I saw my chance. I made a ‘deal’ with her to ‘inherit’ my 3GS & for me to honorably use the new iPhone 4 bought under her mobile contract…and it’s a done deal…hehehe

And that’s not all. Just yesterday, she rewarded me with a gift for being a caring, understanding & loving husband…which is also my advance b’day present. A new CRUMPLER!! woohoo!…love u wifey! muackz!

Oops!! I’m 3 weeks late to wish all Muslims..Eid Mubarak…Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir & Batin…still valid since we’re still the month of Syawal.

After conquering the month of Ramadhan, the hectic festive celebration started since the 1st day of Raya & till last week’s Raya event @Dad’s workplace. Kudos to my wifey for completing her fast during her pregnancy. It’s been very challenging for her definitely!

Accompanied by good food, meeting up with great relatives & friends. Overall, it was magnificent & here are some pics…

The crime scene was shocking. We all knew he will be caught one day for what he has done. Burglary, theft etc…crime that usually happened at night & leaving disgusting trails in the morning.

Cause of death have yet to be determined but from some unknown resources, the cause may be from food poisoning…

God knows how many of ‘em still hiding in the office…

While most people love the fireworks during NDP, I actually prefer the aerial display. And the reason for not watching NDP anymore?…or well the pix below says it all….

In 1990, my 1st ever national day @the padang, S’pore was 25 years old & this is what the S’pore Air Force come out with…25 jets perfectly placed to form the number 25…Superb!!

19 years later during the 44th NDP in 2009…yup…down to 3 mosquitoes. Pathetic isn’t it…

The last time the tiny creatures invade my office was about 1 year ago. Everyone freaked out especially the gals. They kept referring ‘it’ as RATS…but after catching a few of ‘em using traps, they look so small & cute. It’s just slightly bigger than my thumb. I really can’t believe such small animals can go on a feeding frenzy in expense of the unattended tidbits on most of the Staffs’ desks…

Just today, they made their move again. This time i got some photo of the traces they left behind…hehe
